Welcome

My name is Marie Dunleavy and I am Mum to Daniel aged 10 who has additional support needs. Daniel is an able reader and loves books. As Daniel progressed through school I found it very difficult to get resources which appealed to him and were highly visual. Daniel is a strong visual learner and loves flashcards and games and will stay with a task if it is made interesting, and fun.
After many frustrating years trying to find resources which answered this combination of needs I decided to recruit a team of like minded Teachers and Speech Therapists to create my own. I set up POPS Resources with my brother Tony over 2 years ago, to support children like my son to reach his potential.
Pops stands for Plenty of Potential something I reiterated at all review meetings where I felt Daniel could do better given the right resources.
We offer a Reading Scheme and integrated games and phonic sets to teach your child to read or to help generalize your child’s reading abilities. The scheme is also designed to use reading to teach talking and draws on latest research and best practice to achieve this. The scheme is now used in thousands of schools across the U.K. and Ireland and in many homes. I suppose it is the latter which gives me the most satisfaction as I know it is helping Mums like me with children like mine.
Our reading scheme progresses in small easy steps, has large clear text, has lovely illustrations with a bit of fun thrown in. Fun, praise and opportunities for success build our children’s confidence and self esteem. Ultimately this allows a child to develop confidence in their right to be successful.
Best wishes, Marie
